After quite some time, I’ve finished this environment I was working on. The scene takes place in an ancient temple built by an unknown civilization. It has been discovered by a team of researchers who have all mysteriously disappeared, leaving nothing but their equipment behind.
At first, I wanted to go for a design fitting the Blade Runner 2049 movie but then decided to make it more ancient, more crowded with vegetation and a damaged environment while keeping the general feeling of importance and impressiveness. I modeled and textured all the assets except for the vegetation, which is all Megascan from Quixel. I also wanted to make a video to display the level dynamically. I very much enjoyed that part of the process, which consisted mostly of trying to connect the level in almost one smooth shot.
